VORT: Vehicle On Road Testing

A person stands next to a white car in a parking lot, holding a sign with a "P". The car has a "L" sign on the roof, indicating it's a learner vehicle. Trees and a cloudy blue sky are in the background.

What is VORT?

The Vehicle On Road Test (VORT) evaluates your skills and knowledge as a safe and competent driver, typically lasting up to 45 minutes. During the test, you will need to demonstrate proficiency in five slow-speed manoeuvres: moving off, angle parking, U-turn, 3-point turn, and reverse parallel parking. Additionally, the general drive component will assess your abilities in real-world driving scenarios, such as lane changes, navigating busy roads, turning at traffic lights, handling roundabouts, and responding to stop and give-way signs. Successful completion of the VORT requires you to score at least 90% in the general drive while adhering to all road laws; any breach of road laws will result in an immediate failure and termination of the test.

Vort fees start from $390 (dependant on examiners fees). Vort fees include a 1 hour pre drive, the hire of my car and the examiners fees.
